The meeting was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Birmingham, England's second largest city.
A good time was had by all. Approximately 75 delegates and accompanying persons were in attendance, and the members received reports from IAPA regional groups, attended continuing professional education seminars on several timely topics, and transacted important IAPA business. Traditionally, the group travels to sites of interest on one of the days of the meeting, and this year's meeting was no exception. The group was led on an interesting tour of Shakespeare's home, Stratford upon Avon, Anne Hathaway's house, Coventry, and other historical sites. One highlight of the meeting was the final grand dinner held in Ragley Hall, a 16th century castle in the countryside, hosted by British royalty. Friendships and business relationships were renewed and strengthened during the meeting.
Clint and Kara took the opportunity to meet with several UK-based clients of Bateman & Co. while in England.
After the meeting, the McDuffies and Batemans continued to London for a few days, where they met with David Turnbull and the Herb Alexanders from Boston at the historic East India Club. They also took in the sights and saw several musicals in the West End.
